Dorrigo is a small town about 100km east of where we live. Most Australian towns have a ‘Show’ each year – Dorrigo’s is this weekend.
A first time in the ring for this tiny tot – she must have been all of maybe four or five years old. There were only 3 riders in her section – and she won the second place ribbon.
Preparing at the practice jump – this horse is doing a Pegasus impersonation.
This horse isn’t! The rider stayed on, fortunately, and the horse jumped it fine the next time around, but in the event refused two jumps, which apparently disqualified them.
A couple of the wood chopping events – above, taking a breather moments after winning; below, an earth-bound event – but no less rigorous.
